EPM 11.1.2.4 version is released!!! (The previous EPM release was 11.1.2.3.500)

The few of the new features in this release are:-

Essbase:-

    • FIXPARALLEL: - Execute any FIX blocks in parallel, overcomes restrictions of CALCPARALLEL. In a FIXPARALLEL command block, you input some commands to be executed, along with a number of threads and a member list specifying the database regions to be calculated. Essbase creates a list of tasks from the combinations in the member list, and divides the tasks across the threads. It will be more useful when it is used in conjunction with DATACOPY, DATAEXPORT, or CLEARBLOCK commands. It’s available in earlier 11.1.2.3.500 version after patch updates.
    • Hybrid Aggregation Mode: - It promises to bring ASO-style aggregation behavior to BSO cubes, without the performance penalties normally associated with dynamic aggregation in BSO.
    • Better resource utilization with Exalytics
    • Focus on higher scalability and realistic multi-user workload

Planning:-

    • User defined Sandbox
      • In 11.1.2.4, Oracle included a way to do built-in versioning though a concept called a Sandbox. This is a temporary version of the application that is unique to an individual user that no one else has access to, without having to create an entire separate application. The idea is that someone can change something, see the result of that change, then easily publish it to the production version if all goes well or easily destroy the version if things don’t go as planned.
    • Auto calculation, auto save-on-change. We do not have to hit the save button – formulas instantly calculated
    • Interactivity with large data sets – rapid loading of forms, quick cell-to-cell navigations, scrolling on all grids
    • User defined calculations using excel formulas – Formulas edited/created in Excel can reference dimension members and will persist in Planning automatically when saved in Excel.
    • Oracle makes leaps and bounds in mobile connectivity though a simplified interface capability in 11.1.2.4. Users can see a mobile, light and simple interface to Hyperion Planning even on there computer’s browser

FDM Classis is no longer available or supported in 11.1.2.4 so customers must move to FDMEE
