Host Analytics in Hyperion Planning

Description:
Host Analytics provides one complete enterprise performance management (EPM) suite for planning, close, reporting and analytics.

Inter-company elimination:
Interco Elimination takes place depending on the built in interface logic. User can only tag whether the unit can perform elimination.

Ownership Management:
Entity ownership is defined from the cloud interface.

Data drill down:
No such feature is documented in the available artifacts.

Security Management:
The Host Analytics application uses a role-based security model with all requests validated against the role-based model. Host Analytics requires unique user names and passwords that must be entered each time a user logs on. Single sign on feature is also available.

Journal Entries:
Provides a user friendly journal entry module including balanced, recurring and dynamic journals.

Financial Calculations:
Calculation logic can be defined within the application but is not very flexible.

Data Allocations:
Calculation logic can be defined for allocation as well within the application but is not very flexible. Complex allocations cannot be done.

Planning Capabilities:
Can be integrated with planning application

Reporting:
Host Analytics provide pre-defined and customizable reports which can viewed within the application interface.

Application Architecture:

The Host Analytics application was developed on the Microsoft 2008 platform and subscribes to the .NET specification. It is based on high-availability VMware architecture with a fully redundant network backbone. The application is written in C# and dynamically produces every page and sends it to the user’s desktop encrypted using SSL. No static HTML pages or content is delivered by the application unless required by the customer. Host Analytics load-balances at every tier in the infrastructure, from the network to the database servers. Database servers are mirrored for fail over and application server clusters are enabled to ensure that servers can fail without interrupting the user experience.
